Abstract: The classifications，properties，and applications of alumina were introduced briefly.The applications of alumina in mesoporous alumina，alumina ceramics，anodic alumina，alumina fibre，alumina membrane，and modification of polymer were introduced in details.The latest research progress in various fields was also introduced.Finally，the prospects and research tendency of multiform alumina were forecasted.
