Abstract: Fats and oils hydrogenation catalyst was prepared with nickel as active component and alumina as carrier.In the process of preparation，synthesis conditions has the important effect on the final activity of catalyst.Ni/Al2O3 hydrogenation catalyst was prepared by co-precipitation method with industrial nickel nitrate，sodium carbonate，and self-made alumina powder as raw materials.The influences of reaction temperature，reaction time，pH，and stirring rate on the catalyst′s activity were investigated.The optimal preparation conditions were as follows: reaction temperature was 85 ℃，final reaction solution pH=8.0， reaction time was 1.5 h，and stirring rate was 600 r/min.Through palm oil hydrogenation experiment evaluation，Ni/Al2O3 catalyst prepared under those optimal conditions got the lowest iodine value of palm oil.
