Abstract: Ni/Al2O3 catalyst precursor was prepared by precipitation method. After roasting, reduction, and package oil,Ni/Al2O3 fats and oils hydrogenation catalyst were obtained. The effects of reduction conditions, such as reduction temperature, reduction time, and hydrogen flow rate,on catalyst pore structure and hydrogenation activity were investigated by the TPR, nitrogen adsorption, and palm oil hydrogenation experiment. Results showed that the reduction temperature affected the catalyst structure and activity most obviously;the optimal reduction conditions were as follows:reduction temperature of 500 ℃, reduction time of 3.0 h,and hydrogen flow rate of 150 mL/min.When the catalyst prepared under those conditions used for palm oil hydrogenation reaction, the iodine value of 100 g palm oil dropped from 56.0 g to 0.81g.
