Abstract: Hydroxyapatite（HAP） is a good candidate for environmental governance，such as heavy metal wastewater and air pollution of industry，which has recently received greater attention due to its strong ion exchange ability，multi-adsorption sites，and controllable surface acid-base properties.Some of its properties，such as the regular stereochemical structures，bioactivity，and biocompatibility make it become a very attractive candidate as the drug carrier and scaffold etc.in biomedical field.The wet-process preparation technique of hydroxyapatite and its application progress in the fields of environmental governance and biomedical etc.were summarized.
