Abstract:

Porous calcium carbonate microspheres are good new sustained-release carriers, which have broad application prospects in the fields of drug sustained-release,pesticide controlled release, coating protection, rubber anti-aging and so on.The synthesis of calcium carbonate microspheres with rich nanopores is the key to realize sustained-release.Calcium chloride and sodium carbonate as reaction materials, polyacrylic acid(PAA) as surfactant and polystyrene sodium sulfonate(PSS) as crystal regulator were applied to synthetize spherical calcium carbonate microspheres by double decomposition method. The products were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, infrared spectroscopy, particle size analysis, specific surface and porosity analysis, and thermogravimetric analysis. The effects of PAA and PSS concentration on the morphology and crystal shape of calcium carbonate microspheres were studied. The results showed that when the reaction temperature was 80 ℃ and the stirring rate was 600 r/min,the concentration of PAA and PSS were 3.0 g/L and 3.6 g/L,respectively,the porous calcium carbonate microspheres possessed uniform particle size.good morphology and large porosity.
