Abstract: In order to grasp the intellectual property environment of titanium dioxide production technology by chlorination process，and to reduce the risk of patent infringement，a statistical analysis for the related patents in worldwide of the production technology of titanium dioxide by chlorination process  was made by Innography.The distribution of this technology in China′s patents was emphatically introduced.The analysis found that: the related patent applications of the production technology of titanium dioxide by chlorination process were mainly distributed in the United States，Japan，Germany，the UK，and China；DuPont had obvious advantages in this field；In China，Pangang Group Jinzhou Titanium Industry Co.，Ltd. had the most rounded patents in this field.Finally，according to the situation of China，some suggestions were given to those enterprises which will get into the industry of titanium dioxide by chlorination process.
