Abstract: Chlorine dioxide,as a new disinfectant,has been widely used in many fields.But chlorine dioxide gas is so active and unstable that it is difficult to be made into compressed gas,and the liquid chlorine dioxide is too volatile to concentrate.Thus,they all limit the use of chlorine dioxide.Although stabilized chlorine dioxide solution is relatively more convenient than chlorine dioxide gas or liquid while using,but it should be activated by acid before use,the content of chlorine dioxide in solution is very low and the stability of solution is severely affected by pH.Therefore,its further widespread application was restricted too.Limits of chlorine dioxide in practical use were introduced.Three principal types of solid chlorine dioxide and the current situation of their preparation techniques were discussed.Finally,the development trend of a new generation reaction-type solid chlorine dioxide was put forward.
