Abstract: In order to compare the influences of different synthesis methods on the structures,saturated ion exchange capacity,and separation factor of lithium manganate (Li<SUB>4</SUB>Mn<SUB>5</SUB>O<SUB>12</SUB>) lithium-ion sieve,Li<SUB>4</SUB>Mn<SUB>5</SUB>O<SUB>12</SUB> lithium-ion sieve,was synthesized by low temperature solid phase synthesis method and sol-gel method respectively.Prepared samples were characterized by XRD.Results showed that Li<SUB>4</SUB>Mn<SUB>5</SUB>O<SUB>12</SUB>prepared by the two methods and their lithium-ion sieves were all pure spinel structure.The saturated lithium-ion exchange capacity and the separation factor of the ion-sieve obtained by sol-gel method was 26.39 mg/g (3.80 mmol/g) and 216,which were higher than that of the ion-sieve obtained by low temperature solid phase synthesis method,which were 16.06 mg/g (2.31 mmol/g) and 23 respectively.
