Abstract: In order to decline the influence of color on salt chemical products and to increase the added value of the products made from salt lake brine, granular activated carbon was adopted to purify and decolorize the salt lake brine. The influences of the dosage of activated carbon, temperature and pH on decolorization rate were investigated and discussed through static absorption experiments. The experimental results showed that the decolorization rate could reach 70%,while pH=2,temperature=90 ℃ and absorption time=9 h.Due to the high ionic strength and strong viscosity of brine itself, its flowability is very bad, which seriously restricts the enhancement of absorbent efficiency. It is meaningless in practice to raise adsorption rate by increasing the quantity of absorbents and prolonging the absorbent time, because the cost will be increased simultaneously. Therefore, how to improve the process conditions of absorption is where the shoe pinches of increasing the adsorption rate.<BR>
