Preparation method of nickel sulfate from spherical nickel oxide

Abstract:

The preparation method of high purity nickel sulfate was disclosed basing on the spherical nickel oxide.Firstly,the components of spherical nickel oxide were characterized by the powder of X-ray diffraction and X-ray photoelectron spectro-scopy.The major component was nickel oxide.Then the optimal conditions of leaching nickel oxide into nickel sulfate were established,and the optimal conditions were 1.84 mol/L sulphuric acid,200 ℃,solid-liquid ratio 0.3 g/mL and reaction time 6 h.Finally,high refined nickel sulfate solution with controllable pH value and nickel concentration,could be obtained by re-dissolving of nickel sulfate monohydrate, which was the byproduct obtained at the higher temperature(250 ℃).
