Abstract: The processes of acid leaching oxidizing modification and microwave digestion to prepare high quality Ti concen- trate from Panzhihua Ti-slag were contrastively studied. The as-prepared products were characterized by XRD,SEM,and other techniques. It was found that Ti-slag had a low leaching reactivity in the oxidizing modification, and its impurities could not be removed effectively by atmospheric leaching.However,Ti-slag had a much better leaching reactivity in microwave digestion process which was helpful to destroy the dense structure.Besides, the best microwave digestion conditions were that the hydrochloric acid mass fraction was 25%,the ratio of acid to ore was 4 mL/g,and the pressure was 0.2 MPa.Under those conditions superior Ti concentrate contained over 88% TiO2,Fe of 2%~3%(mass fraction),and MgO+CaO(mass fraction)< 1.5%,which met the requirements of raw material of titanium oxide by fluidized chloridization process.
