Abstract: The tetragonal phase of flower-like rare-earth-doped CaWO4 nanostructures have been solvothermally synthesized in a binary solution of water and ethylamine. The effects of the mix ratio of water and ethylamine, sintering temperature, and the different types of rare earth-doped CaWO4 on luminescence of CaWO4:Tb3+ were investigated in detail. The structure, morphology, and performance of the as-prepared samples were characterized by XRD,SEM,FT-IR,and PL.Then the growth mechanism for the formation of flower-like CaWO4:Tb3+ nanostructures was described. Results revealed that flower-like rare- earth-doped CaWO4 nanostructures obtained by solvothermal treatment at 160 ℃ for 24 h,in water and ethylamine with the volume ratio of 1∶2 solvent, and then sintered at the temperature of 800 ℃.The different types of rare earth-doped CaWO4 showed different color luminescences with the excitation of UV light.
