Abstract: Molten salt electrolysis technology is an important technology roadmap in the spent fuel dry reprocessing. The paper uses CeO2 as simulated materials of oxides spent fuel to explore melting problems of CeO2 in the LiCl-KCl molten salts. The effects of various parameters(temperature, time, and flow rate etc.) on the chlorination reaction were investigated, and successfully use liquid zinc cathode to recover the low concentration of cerium in the molten salts. By vacuum distillation under a reducing pressure to achieve a successful separation of Ce-Zn alloys. It provided a valuable reference data base for spent fuel dry reprocessing.
