Abstract: One of the metals commonly used by humans is lead.With the lead resource used up increasingly，the recovery of secondary lead became the only way for sustainable development of lead industry.The number of spent lead acid battery was increasing quickly because of its enlarging application range and increasing quantity.The main raw material of regenerated lead was spent lead paste，whose recycling products include basic lead sulfate，lead chloride，lead，and lead oxide etc..Based on the recovery products of spent lead paste，the characteristics，application，and preparation methods were reviewed.The study status and development trends of recycling spent lead acid battery in China and abroad were also prospected.
