Abstract: The carbonate-based salt lakes are widely distributed in Tibet,China.Their brine system is similar to a quinary metastable system of Na+,K+//Cl-,SO42-,CO32--H2O.In the process of evaporation, the K-bearing minerals are mainly in the form of potassium glauber. The technology of processing KCl from potassium glauber by thermosoling-crystallization method was studied. On the basis of temperature influence on the solution components, the ratio of minerals and mother liquid, equilibrium time, and tailings washing etc.,the optimum processing conditions were determined.Through the whole process experiment and the calculation of the volume of the recyclable materials, the parameters of product quality, and potassium ion yield were also obtained.Experimental results showed that the high purity of KCl could be received from the potassium glauber-based minerals by using thermosoling-crystallization method.
