Abstract: Coarse strontium was prepared at first by calcining celestite.After leaching by hot water，industrial NaOH was added，and then coarse strontium hydroxide octahydrate was prepared through cooling crystallization，After desulfurization，purification，and recrystallization，the high purity strontium hydroxide octahydrate crystal particles were obtained.Experiment results showed that，this method had low cost，short flow，and the product purity could reach over 99.0% under proper conditions. Therefore，it is suitable for industrial production.
