Abstract:

High strength foam glass ceramic were prepared with industrial waste rock wool and glass as raw materials and CaCO3 as foaming agent. The effects of the proportion of waste rock wool and waste glass and sintering temperature on the properties of foam glass ceramic were studied. The results showed that the melt viscosity was decreased with the increase of waste rock wool and sintering temperature, which was not conducive to the stability of the bubble structure. At a 40% waste rock wool content and a sintering temperature of 750 ℃,the sample was obtained with a bulk density of 0.54 g/cm3,a porosity of 62.5%,and a compressive strength of 4.76 MPa.The samples were mainly formed into wollastonite and quartz crystal phases. After adding TiO2 as the nucleating agent, the main crystal phase was changed to titanite. When TiO2 content was 10%,it was more economical to sintering at 750 ℃ for 20 min.The bulk density of the sample was 0.82 g/cm3,the porosity was 50%,and the compressive strength was 7.76 MPa.
