Application of metal-organic frameworks in fields of natural gas purification and storage

Abstract:

Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs) have received wide attention as new adsorbent materials for gas separation and storage due to their excellent pore characteristics and flexible structure adjustability.However,MOFs solid adsorbents need to be systematically design in the field of natural gas purification and storage.The separation of carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide in natural gas purification process was briefly reviewed,which would improve the purity of gas and lay a foundation for efficient storage.Then,the consideration of using MOFs for natural gas storage from two angles of adsorption and desorption was discussed.Finally,the thought of MOFs design and synthesis and the challenge of stability and versatility in the field of natural gas purification and storage were summarized to improve the possibility of MOFs adsorbents′ wide use in the future.
