Impact of heterogenous crystal seeds on synthesis of NaY zeolite

Abstract:

By adding different amounts of heterogenous seeds of chabazite to the gel synthesized by NaY zeolite,the effect of them on the synthesis of NaY zeolite was discussed.The results showed that when no heterogenous crystal seeds was added to the aluminosilica gel for NaY synthesis,there was no impurity crystal in the synthesized NaY zeolite,and the relative crystallinity of NaY was 95%.SEM images showed all the crystals were typical morphology of NaY zeolite.However,When a small amount of heterogenous seeds of chabazite was added,it would be directed to the gel to generate siderite crystals.XRD phase analysis and SEM characterization confirmed the existence of chabazite.When the adding amount was 0.8%,a small amount of chabazite crystals was formed.When the adding amount was increased to 1.2% and 2.5%,the crystal content of chabazite was increased greatly.The relative crystallinity of NaY zeolite was less than 80%.And also the surface area and acidity were decreased which seriously affected the quality of NaY zeolite.
