Abstract:

In order to study the effect of iron tailings powder on the properties of cement-based materials, the effect of iron tailings powder mixing amount on the microstructure properties, hydration mechanism and changes in mineral composition after hydration was studied.Based on the physical and mechanical test results of cementitious materials,it was concluded that the optimal performance of cementitious materials was achieved when the content of iron tailings powder was 30%(mass fraction) and the specific surface area was 450 m2/kg.Under the same hydration time, the heat release rate and heat release of cement-based materials were decreased with increasing of the content of iron tailings. The change law of the porosity of cement-based materials showed a trend of firstly decreasing and then increasing. The XRD patterns of cement-based materials had similar changes in diffraction peaks, but the intensity of the diffraction peaks of Ca(OH)2 was continuously reduced. The change law of the intensity value of the silica diffraction peak showed an increasing trend. Both the diffraction peak intensity value of dicalcium silicate and the diffraction peak intensity value of tricalcium silicate showed decreasing trends.
