Abstract:

The sodium carbonate was used as the source of alkali in the Xinjiang Oilfield ASP (alkaline-surfactant-polymer) flooding.Aiming at the charateristic of the components of inorganic mineral, crude oil and underground water in the area, the study on consumption of sodium carbonate was made. The results showed that the inorganic clay minerals in conglomerate reservoir had strong adsorption to sodium carbonate in ASP flooding system,in which the montmorillonite was the strongest adsorbent for polymers followed by chlorite, illite and feldspar, and the adsorbability of quartz sand was lowest. The static adsorption results showed that the adsorption of sodium carbonate on loose cores was greater than that on cemented cores. With the decrease of permeability the dynamic adsorption capacity of sodium carbonate decreased gradually. The miscellaneous groups consumed sodium carbonate much more. The crude oil acid value of the block is lower, and the loss of chemical reaction between the sodium carbonate and the crude oil was less; the divalent cation in the formation water of the block were lower, and the consumption of sodium carbonate was also less.
