Research progress on glass?ceramics

The research progress on categories,manufacturing methods and raw materials of glass?ceramics were reviewed.Among them,the glass?ceramics manufacturing technology aimed at waste immobilization was introduced emphatically.Starting from crystallization,the research status of crystallization process of glass ceramics was summarized,including the nucleation mechanism of different process,the development of nucleation theory and the progress of molecular dynamics simulation.The glass?ceramics technology research trends of diversification,complexity and refinement were summarized.It was considered that future research should not only pay attention to the application of various advanced characterization tools in the observation of glass crystallization process,but also need to combine experimental methods with mathematical modeling and theoretical calculation methods.In terms of application,four outstanding properties of glass?ceramics:transparency,luminescence,thermal expansion and mechanical strength were introduced,which gave it great potential in various high?tech fields.
