Analysis of material flow and energy flow of soda ash based on MFA

Abstract

Based on the On-site research and ledger data of a soda ash factory,the total energy consumption and pollutants discharge of the main process,including the salt water process,limestone calcination process and carbonation process etc.,in the production of soda ash were calculated and analyzed by analysis of material flow(MFA)method. The results showed that for 1 t of soda production,1.6 t of raw salt,1.2 t of limestone,0.1 t of coke,200 kW·h of power,12 000 MJ of steam heat en-ergy were consumed,and 1.4 t of waste gas,10 t of waste liquid and 1.7 t of waste residue were produced.
