Preparation and lithium storage properties of Co-doped MnO by co precipitation method in micro channel reactor

Abstract

Flower like Co-doped manganese oxide(Mn1-xCoxO) lithium ion battery anode material was synthesized by co precipitation method in the micro channel reactor,using Mn(CH3COO)2·4H2O,Co(CH3COO)2·4H2O and C2H2O4·2H2O as raw materials.X-ray diffraction(XRD),scan electron microscopy(SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) were used to characterize the structure,morphology and elemental state of Mn1-xCoxO electrodes.Galvanostatic charge-discharge test and electrochemical workstation were carried out to investigate the effect of Co-doping amount on electrochemical perfor mance of Mn1-xCoxO as an anode material for lithium ion batteries.When the amount of Co-doping increased,Mn1-xCoxO and its precursor all evolved from rod like to flower like,and the capacity first increased and then decreased.As synthesized Mn0.95Co0.05O delivered a discharge capacity of 496.7 mA·h/g after 200 cycles at 5C rate,and its discharge specific capacity was increased by about 40.0% compared with undoped MnO,which showed good electrochemical performance.
