Abstract: A sulfur reclaiming method from zinc sulfide concentrate leaching residue was introduced.Ammonia sulfide solution was choosed as extracted liquor,and sulfur in zinc sulfide mineral leaching residue can form polysulfide ions,which will dissolve in the solution.The filtrate was separated out through filtration and the thermal decomposition was carried out.The produced gas was led out and absorbed,which can be used in repetition.Also the decomposition liquid can be prepared into the high-purity sulphur products through thermal decomposition.The formation conditions of polysulfide were as follows:ammonium sulfide solution concentration of 4.0 mol/L;and the ratio of liquid to solid was 11 mL/g;leaching time for 45 min at room temperature.Polysulfide decomposition experiment conditions were:reaction temperature was 353 K and decomposition time was 120 min.Selecting ammonium sulfide solution for leaching sulfur from zinc concentrate leaching residue had many advantages,such as equipment,technology and sulfur extracting operation are simple,do no harm to the environment,and leaching conditions are easy to control,the extract liquid can be returned to recycling,the total sulfur yield can reach over 96%.<BR>
