Abstract: Light transparent basic magnesium carbonate is the ideal packing material to produce translucent rubber product with the brine in salinization production and soda ash as raw materials,the light-weight transparent basic magnesium carbonate was prepared by a new technique.Compared with the traditional techniques,it was not necessary to decolor the raw brine,thus greatly simplified the production process and saved the cost of production.The new technique has the advantages of cheap raw materials,simple process,pollution-free,and low production cost etc..The detailed process is as follow:heating brine and soda ash to form magnesium carbonate (MgCO<SUB>3</SUB>&#8226;3H<SUB>2</SUB>O) precipitation,after filtration magnesium carbonate crystal was fully washed to remove the attached salt.Then added water to dissolve magnesium carbonate into the water suspension. Finally,changed it into light-weight transparent basic magnesium carbonate through dehydration and carbon dioxide elimination.
