Abstract: Silicon carbide(SiC)ceramic material has attracted more and more attentions because of its unique physical and chemicalproperties.As an advanced material,it can be widely used in petrochemical,machinery,space,and automobile industries.Comparing with traditional preparing methods,sol-gel method has advantages of low synthesizing temperature,high purity,and fine uniformity.In basis of introducing principle of sol-gel method,research status of preparation for silicon carbide nanopowder,onedimensional silicon carbide nanomaterials,silicon carbide ceramic nanocomposites,porous silicon carbide with high specific surface area,and other silicon carbide materials by solgel method were discussed in detail.In addition,main progress tendency of preparation of silicon carbide by solgel method was also put forward.
