Abstract: Superhydrophobic terylene satin modified with aligned zinc oxide (ZnO) nanorods was prepared by a tepid-temperature wet chemical route.Structure and morphology of product were characterized by X-ray diffractometer and field-emission scanning electron microscopy.Drop shape analysis system and paper-disk method was used to test its wetting and antibacterial properties. Results showed that the nanorod-modified terylene satin had a water contact angle of 148°,which showed a good hydrophobicity.Meanwhile, bacteriostatic test indicated that the modified terylene satin with aligned ZnO nanorods had a good inhibiting activity to pathogenic escherichia coli and staphylococcus aureus etc..Therefore,the product has an attractive application prospect in garment and packaging industries.
