Discussion on current advance new methods of energy saving andemission reduction in titanium industry

Abstract: <FONT face=Verdana>Titanium industry is a high-energy consumption and high-pollution industry.Along with more requirements on energy saving and emission reduction in China,titanium industry has been plunged into an unprecedented predicament.Technologies for the treatment of&nbsp; ‘three-waste’ generated by titanium production have been well developed.However,economic cost burden is very heavy and economic unbalance is the key factor that affect development of titanium industry.Titanate,with titanium white as raw material,is an advanced functional inorganic material and its market demand expands increasingly.Advance on research of titanium industry and its pollution treatment was analyzed,and a new energy saving and emission reduction technology for titanate production coupling with titanium industry was proposed.New coupling technology reduced the cost of the new material—potassium titanate,and a part of the profit can be used for waste treatment,which can both strengthen the competitiveness of enterprises and accelerate the development of titanium industry.Therefore,it is a new way for energy saving and emission reduction,which is suitable for the development of titanium industry in China. </FONT>
