Abstract: <SPAN lang=EN-US style="FONT-SIZE: 10.5pt; FONT-FAMILY: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-size: 12.0pt; mso-font-kerning: 1.0pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: ZH-CN; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; mso-fareast-font-family: 宋体">Magnesium hydroxide is an important chemical product.Its production technologies (such as brucite milling method and chemical synthesis method) and modification researches were summarized,and the research hot spots of chemical synthesis method and modification were mainly introduced.Chinese and foreign markets as well as consumption situation were analyzed.It was pointed out that the biggest consumption routes of magnesium hydroxide are wastewater disposal and flue gas desulfurization,and secondly are flame retardants in the world;Flame retardant is the fastest growing area of magnesium hydroxide consumption.Cost problems of production technologies were put forward and further research and development of magnesium hydroxide was prospected.</SPAN>
