Determination of aluminum tripolyphosphate acted as effective constituent of anticorrosive pigment

Abstract: Ion exchange column chromatography was established for separation and determination of aluminum tripolyphosphate used as additive of anticorrosive pigment.Optimum conditions were confirmed as follows:solution of KCl was selected as leachate;add acetic acid-sodium acetate buffer solution with pH of 4.4;control flow rate of leachate at 4.5~5.0 mL/min;gradient leaching was carried out by KCl solution with concentration of 0.15,0.25,0.50,and 0.75 mol/L respectively.Different forms of phosphate containing orthophosphate,pyrophosphate,tripolyphosphate,and trimetaphosphate from aluminum tripolyphosphate sample were separated successfully under optimum conditions and their contents were determined.Results showed that this method is simple and accurate with cheap instruments.
