Preparation ofBO33-and B4O72-modified TiO2 films with different morphologies

Abstract: Applications for TiO<SUB>2</SUB> film strongly depend on its morphology,thus,to improve its performance,it is very important to prepare TiO<SUB>2</SUB>films with different morphologies.B<SUB>4</SUB>O<SUB>7</SUB><SUP>2-</SUP>modified TiO<SUB>2</SUB>films with spherical shape and BO<SUB>3</SUB><SUP>3-</SUP>modified TiO<SUB>2</SUB>film with different morphologies were first prepared by one step hydrothermal synthesis method.Meanwhile,formation mechanism and the influencing factors of morphology of BO<SUB>3</SUB><SUP>3-</SUP> and B<SUB>4</SUB>O<SUB>7</SUB><SUP>2-</SUP> modified TiO<SUB>2</SUB>films were investigated.Structure and properties of the films were characterized and analyzed by XRD,SEM,TEM,and UV-VIS.Results indicated that the crystal structure of BO<SUB>3</SUB><SUP>3-</SUP> and B<SUB>4</SUB>O<SUB>7</SUB><SUP>2-</SUP>modified TiO<SUB>2</SUB>films were mainly rutile phase.Morphologies of BO<SUB>3</SUB><SUP>3-</SUP> modified TiO<SUB>2</SUB>films were needle-like,spherical,and long strip-like with flower on the surface.Morphology of B<SUB>4</SUB>O<SUB>7</SUB><SUP>2-</SUP>modified TiO<SUB>2</SUB>film was spherical.BO<SUB>3</SUB><SUP>3-</SUP> andB<SUB>4</SUB>O<SUB>7</SUB><SUP>2-</SUP>modified TiO<SUB>2</SUB>films showed that they both have remarkable red shift in UV-visible spectrum and light response regions of the films extended to the visible light region.
