Abstract: Chlorate and perchlorate industries are highly corrosive industries.Some media,such as acid,alkali,chlorine,chlorate,and perchlorate met or being treated during productions,all have strong corrosivity.Currently,in order to prevent equipment and pipeline from being corrupted and to reduce engineering cost,Dalian Northern Potassium Chlorate Plant successfully applied reinforced polypropylene to perchlorate industry as a partial substitute for titanium material.Common engineering plastics,such as PVC,polyethylene,polypropylene,polytetrafluoroethy -lene and phenolic resin etc.,were compared.Polypropylene engineering plastics were selected finally.Introduced the method and precautions for filling and modi-fying polypropylene as well as precautions for processing storage tank.Result showed that the use of reinforced polypropylene made Dalian Northern Potassium Chlorate Plant not only saved a lot of money,but also achieved the purpose of anticorrosion.
