Method of refining industrial salt by cyclical utilization of cryolite mother solution

Abstract: New method of refining industrial salt by using fluorine-containing wastewater was studied.Firstly,mix mother solution by-produced in the production of cryolite by sodium fluosilicate method and mother solution by-produced in the production of cryolite by clay-bittern method well in a certain proportion,adjust pH to appropriate point,and then analyze fluorine content in the mixture.Based on the analysis result to calculate the feeding amount of industrial salt.Put high cal-cium-containing industrial salt into fluorine-containing mixture of the two kinds of mother solution.Then turbid salt solution was obtianed through sufficient stirring,and purified salt solution with low calcium content was prepared after filtration.Low-calcium industrial salt solution by this technology which was used as raw material of cryolite production by clay-bittern method,could effectively reduce the content of calcium oxide in cryolite product,and could play a role in promotion of improving the quality of cryolite.And refined industrial salt solution could be also used for the other industries that had relatively high requirement for the quality.This method not only recycled mother soltutions of both methods,but also reduced calcium oxide conternt of cryolite by clay-bittern method.Therefore,it will has a large environmental and economic benefits.
