Abstract: <SPAN lang=EN-US>All the way,how to make gold and platinum extract from sand quickly and effectively is more concerned for research workers. At present, percentages determination of gold and platinum in sand by X-ray fluorescence analysis was one of the sensitive and quick methods. At a suitable temperature,a piece of crystal was obtained in flux of borate, after the sample grinded and dried. The optimum conditions of percentages determination of gold and platinum in sand have been confirmed by adjusting parameters of X-ray fluorescence instrument and using measuring program _UQ and a piece of crystal LiF200. Realistically,it has directive sense for extraction of gold and platinum in sand. The test indicates:if the time of drying samples is more than 4 h,taking lithium tetraborate as flux, and temperature of melting samples controls at 1 <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:chmetcnv w:st="on" TCSC="0" NumberType="1" Negative="False" HasSpace="True" SourceValue="100" UnitName="℃">100 <SPAN lang=EN-US style="FONT-FAMILY: 宋体; mso-ascii-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-hansi-font-family: "Times New Roman""><SPAN lang=EN-US>℃</SPAN></SPAN></st1:chmetcnv>,the most stable percentages of gold and platinum can be determined, which are 0.243% and 0.174% respectively.<BR></SPAN>
