Abstract: China is rich in liquid lithium resources,and salt lake brine in China generally has the feature of high lithium-magnesium ratio.With the increasing application of lithium and its compounds,their demand is growing fast.It has been a tough issue in worldwide for the separation of lithium and magnesium from brine with high Mg-Li ratio under the premise of ensuring the economic benefits.Solvent extraction,precipitation,and ion-exchange adsorption methods were introduced in detail by combining with the features of lithium extraction technologies from salt lakes at home and abroad.On the other hand,the existing problems of extraction lithium from salt lake in present China were emphasized and analyzed and the direction to resolve these problems in the future was pointed out.
