Abstract:

At present, most analytical methods are difficult to calculate the content of calcium oxide, calcium hydroxide and calcium carbonate in industrial calcium hydroxide. The combination of sucrose titration and thermogravimetric analysis was carried out to analyze CaO,Ca(OH)2 and CaCO3 in industrial calcium hydroxide. The content of available calcium in calcium hydroxide was determined by GB/T 5762—2012,Methods for Chemical Analysis of Limestone,Quicklime and Hydrated Lime for Building Materials Industry.Due to the difference in decomposition temperatures of calcium hydroxide and calcium carbonate, the content of calcium hydroxide and calcium carbonate in industrial calcium hydroxide was determined by ther-mogravimetric analysis. When the calcium hydroxide in the available calcium was deducted and the remainder was converted, the content of calcium oxide could be obtained. Thus, the contents of three substances,i.e.CaO,Ca(OH)2 and CaCO3,were obtained. And the rest parts were other impurities. This method has many advantages, such as relatively simple operation and a large variety of measured components.

Key words: industrial calcium hydroxide, CaO, CaCO3
