Abstract: In order to improve the TiO↓2 pigment performance and its dispersibility,the surface of rutile titanium dioxide was inorganically coated by zirconia and alumina through chemical liquid deposition method with(NaPO↓3)↓6 as a dispersant,and then organically coated by organic reagents.The influences of dispersion of TiO↓2 particles,suspension pH,reaction time and suspension temperature on blue whiteness (Wr) and gloss (L) were investigated,and the best technics condition of inorganic coating with zirconia and alumina was obtained.Whiteness and gloss of samples were obviously improved after inorganic coating.Then,the specimens were characterized by TEM and XPS.At last,TiO↓2 which had been inorganically and organically coated was tested by subsidence experiment and determined in terms of pigment performances,such as power,relative lightening power,fineness and oil absorption.Results showed that its pigment performance and dispersibility were both obviously improved.
