Abstract: During the process of ASP flooding, the adsorption of polymer would happen, resulting in a decrease in viscosity and sweep volume. The factors affecting the adsorption of inorganic minerals on polymers in the ASP flooding experiment in Xinjiang Oilfield were studied. The results showed that montmorillonite was the strongest adsorbent for polymers, followed by chlorite, illite, feldspar and quartz sand. The adsorption of polymers on loose cores was greater than that on cemented cores. With the decrease of permeability, the dynamic adsorption capacity of polymers decreased gradually.Compared with pure polymer flooding, the viscosity and adsorptive capacity of polymer in ASP flooding were much smaller, which was mainly because the high concentration of the alkali in the ASP flooding was equivalent to the increase of the inorganic salt concentration and reduced the adsorptive capacity of polymer due to the compression of polymer. And the surfactant and polymer had competitive adsorption, which reduced the adsorptive capacity of polymer.
