Abstract: As the development of global trades，IMO published International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships，and regulated that since January 1st，2020，the maximum sulfur mass fraction for global marine bunker oil must decrease from 3.5% to 0.5%，with a decline of 86%.The bunker oil market status at home and abroad，development progress of bunker oil standards along the years，manufacturing technologies for low sulfur marine bunker oil and impact brought by the execution of IMO new regulation were introduced.The current manufacturing status and development opportunities of low sulfur bunker oil within CNOOC were analyzed.The suggestion on establishing CNOOC′s own low sulfur bunker oil manufac?鄄 turing base was proposed.
