Abstract: Potassium ion yield which is strongly affected by factors including the raw ore type, water amount, and temperature in the decomposing procedure,is low in the production of potassium chloride with positive flotation technique. On the basis of practical production, with the decomposing procedure as objective, the factors affecting the quality of decomposing products and yield were investigated, and high concentration brine for different raw ores was reused. The results showed:when component of decomposed mother liquid is certain, the larger the ratio of sodium chloride to potassium chloride in raw ore is,the lower the product quality is,the logarithmic relation between them is proposed and the larger the ratio of magnesium chloride to potassium chloride is,the lower the yield is,the relation between them is linear;the yield of K decreases along with the water amount increasing in decomposing procedure;the larger the ratio of magnesium chloride to potassium chloride is,the quicker the yield decreases along with water amount increasing for different raw ores;when high concentration brine was reused, the component of decomposed mother liquid should be controlled differently for different raw ores because they have different ratios of magnesium chloride to potassium chloride and sodium chloride in the case of decomposing completely within 15 min;when water amount is certain, the larger the ratio of magnesium chloride to potassium chloride is,the quicker the yield decreases along with temperature rising for different raw ores.<BR>
