Abstract: <DIV>This paper primarily studied the removal of arsenic in the preparation of high-purity feed-grade zinc oxide with zinc calcine and ammonia-ammonium sulfate solution as raw materials. In this process the sedimentation-flocculation-adsorption technology is adopted to oxidize As↑3+ into As↑5+ at first, which is then deposited under the action of absorption precipitant. The results showed that arsenic is utmost removed under the following conditions: temperature is 60 ℃,amount-of-substance ratio of arsenic to oxidant to absorption precipitant is 1∶1.2∶1.2, leaching time (under stirring) is 2 h and settling time is 1 h.This process produced qualified zinc oxide which is in compliance with standards of HG 2792—1996.The arsenic removal technique is thereby renovated in the preparation of zinc oxide with ammonia method.</DIV>
