Preparation of polysilicate polyferric chloride flocculant (PSPFC)by leaching ferric tailings with hydrochloric acid pickling wastewater

Abstract: A preparation method of polysilicate polyferric chloride flocculant (PSPFC) by leaching ferric tailings with hydrochloric acid pickling wastewater,was studied,and the reasonable preparation craft and technological conditions were determined.Results showed that the optimum technological conditions for leaching ferric tailings by hydrochloric acid pickling wastewater are as follows: leaching temperature is 95 ℃,mass ratio of hydrochloric acid pickling wastewater to ferric tailings is 6∶1 and leaching time is 3.5 h .The flocculation efficiency of the PSPFC is mainly influenced by the amount-of-substance ratio of Fe to Si,the concentration of Fe↑3+ in polyferric chloride and the aging time.The optimal conditions for PSPFC preparation are as follows:the amount-of-substance ratio of Fe to Si is1∶1,the concentration of Fe↑3+ is 0.6 mol/L and the aging time is 40 min.The turbidity (COD) and color removal efficiency of the PSPFC on industrial wastewater treatment is above 90%.
