Abstract: The carbonate-based salt lakes are widely distributed in Tibet,China.Potassium minerals which were formed during the process of evaporation, were primarily glaserite and potassium chloride. To study alkaline carbonate salt lakes and to exploit new collectors, the flotation method was used to prepare higher grade glaserite and potassium chloride from different potassium ores.On the basis of the study on the degree of dissociation, collector dosage,solid-liquid ratio, flotation time, rotate speed, inflatable volume, and choiceness conditions etc.,the optimum process conditions of closed-loop process were established.Through closed-loop experiments, the amount of recyclable mineral, product grade, and yield coefficient of potassium ions etc.were calculated.Experimental results showed that in the glaserite-based mineral flotation system, the potassium yield reached 98% and the mass fraction of glaserite was above 91%.
