Abstract: Fumed silica is widely used in the fields of chemical，food，and chemical mechanical polishing etc.，which can play a role in reinforcing，thickening，thixotropy，and extinction etc..The capacity，import-and-export-trade，consumption，projects under construction，variety，quality，and progress of technological advancements of fumed silica in China in 2012 were introduced.It also discussed the developing trend of fumed silica in market，raw material，and product performance etc.It is expected to provide some guidance suggestions for enterprises of producing silica and researchers of researching fumed silica.
