Study on the process of white carbon black from ammonium bicarbonate

Abstract: The nano-sized white carbon black with high surface area has been prepared with ammonium bicarbonate and soluble glass as raw materials.Compared to traditional acid method,with the new process not only the sodium carbonate can be recovered from the production but also the discharge of waste liquid can be reduced.The influences of process conditions,such as the feeding way,reaction temperature,aging time,density of soluble glass and dosage of organic dispersant on the BET surface area and DBP oil absorption value of white carbon black were mainly investigated.BET surface area and DBP oil absorbtion value of prepared products are 235 m↑2/g and 3.43 mL/g respectively under the optimum process conditions.
