Study on morphology of calcium carbonate controlled by sodium dodecyl sulfate and amino acid double template

摘要

球形碳酸钙因其高的比表面积、低的密度、优异的介孔性、优良的分散性和平滑性,在涂料、造纸、黏合剂、塑料、油墨、化妆品、药物的负载与缓释等方面有着广阔的应用前景。采用简单的复分解法,以氢氧化钙和碳酸钠为反应原料,十二烷基硫酸钠(SDS)、谷氨酸、脯氨酸和精氨酸为晶型控制剂,调控制备了多形貌的碳酸钙(CaCO3),并用扫描电镜、X射线衍射仪等检测方法对产物进行表征分析。研究表明:SDS调控下,CaCO3形貌主要为椭圆形;氨基酸调控下,CaCO3形貌主要为不规则块状;在SDS与氨基酸双模板条件下,随着氨基酸从碱性到中性再到酸性,制得的CaCO3形貌从不规则棒状逐渐缩短变为椭圆形,最后形成规整球形结构。考察了反应温度、诱导剂用量、反应时间和pH等工艺参数对碳酸钙粒子晶型和形貌的影响,提出了双模板作用的反应原理。结果表明,在反应温度为20 ℃、SDS浓度为0.1 mol/L、谷氨酸质量浓度为40 g/L、反应时间为2 h、pH为12.3时,可制得微米级、规整光滑的方解石球形CaCO3,可为球形碳酸钙的工业化生产提供借鉴。

Abstract

Spherical calcium carbonate has broad application prospects in coatings,papermaking,adhesives,plastics,inks,cosmetics,drug loading and sustained release due to its high specific surface area,low density,excellent mesoporous properties,excellent dispersibility and smoothness.In this paper,polymorphous calcium carbonate(CaCO3) was prepared by simple double decomposition method with calcium hydroxide and sodium carbonate as raw materials,sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS),glutamic acid,proline and arginine as crystal control agents,and the products were characterized by scanning electron microscope and X-ray diffractometer.The results showed that the morphology of CaCO3 was mainly elliptic under SDS control.Under the control of amino acids,the morphology of CaCO3 was mainly irregular and massive.Under the condition of SDS and amino acid double template,the morphology of CaCO3 was gradually shortened from irregular rod shape to ellipse as amino acids changed from alkaline to neutral and then to acidic,and finally formed a regular spherical structure.The effects of reaction temperature,inducer dosage,reaction time and pH value on the crystal form and morphology of calcium carbonate particles were investigated,and the reaction principle of double template action was put forward.The results showed that when the reaction temperature was 20 ℃,the concentration of SDS was 0.1 mol/L,the concentration of glutamate was 40 g/L,the reaction time was 2 h,and the pH value was 12.3,the micron grade and smooth calcite spherical CaCO3 could be prepared,which could provide reference for the industrial production of spherical calcium carbonate.
