Research and application progress of potassium monopersulfate compound for disinfection

Abstract:

As a highly effective and safe disinfectant and oxidant, potassium monopersulfate compound has been widely used in water supply disinfection, wastewater treatment, aquaculture and other fields.The basic properties of potassium monopersulfate compound for disinfection, the recent research results of disinfection efficacy and influencing factors and the main disinfection applications were summarized.And the safety of its disinfection by-product was discussed.It was found that even though a large number of reports and cases of disinfection theory and application research has been emerged, compared with other disinfectants, there was still a gap between potassium monopersulfate compound and other disinfectants in the depth and breadth of disinfection research.The basic research work of potassium monopersulfate compound should continue to be enriched, and the regulations and standards should be improved.These will provide technical and policy support for expanding its application fields and exerting its potential value.
