Preparation of industrial mono-ammonium phosphate from wet process phosphoric acid purified by methanol precipitation method

Abstract: The industrial mono-ammonium phosphate(MAP) is usually produced from thermal phosphoric acid,however,the cost is high and the pollution is severe.A new method that produce MAP by using wet process phosphoric acid(WPA) was studied.The wet process phosphoric acid(mass fraction of P2O5 was 17.44%) with high impurities content and low concentration was purified by the methanol precipitation method,and MAP was prepared in the presence of solvent.Results showed that the method that the MAP produced through purification of WPA in methanol meets  the requirement of industrial standard(HG/T 4133—2010 Ammonium Dihydrogen Phosphate for Industrial Use),and the absorption ratio of phosphorus(as P2O5)was above 75%.
