Abstract: As a raw material, egg shells, which contain a large amount of calcium carbonate, could be used to produce the high use value calcium peroxide.Once the method described above was carried out, these goals that recycling egg shells and protecting environment could be achieved. At room temperature, calcium peroxide was produced from the eggshell powder that was to be treated in advance. The influences of stabilizing agent, amounts of ammonia and hydrogen peroxide, and reaction time on the purity and yield of product were discussed with single factor experiment. Results showed that the product purity was the highest in no stabilizing agent process. The mass fraction of calcium peroxide could reach more than 72% and the yield was about 90% under the optimum conditions, such as the amount of ammonia of 8 mL,amount of hydrogen peroxide of 25 mL,and reaction time of 35 min.
